I have used dowel rods through a 2 tiered cake, but what If you have a tiered cake that is more than a 12 inch dowel rod, do you just put it through a couple of tiers? Do they have dowel rods that come in longer lengths? I have only seen the 12 inch ones from Michaels.

Other craft stores carry them, plus the hardware store.

They have them at Home Depot and Lowes. They are about 3 feet long.

I've been wondering the same thing - thanks for posting this! If you buy something from a hardware store does you have to get something specific to be sure it's food safe? Thanks!

I buy them from Walmart in the Fabric dept. They sell the long wooden dowels cheap.

Thanks. I never would have thought to look in lowes or home depot. I will be going up there today. Thanks!
