I know this may be quite a simple question to most of you but could you please tell me the best way to add colour to buttercream .. ive tried and the colouring just seems to seperate from the butter and looks awful when piped . Im not sure what im doing wrong because it used to work really well the way i was doing it .

Try using another brands of coloring like Americiolor or Chefmaster.I see you are located in the UK..Try and find a supplier who will ship to you reasonably from Canada or the US.I have never had an issue with coloring seperating.
