I am needing to make a "bullseye" on a cake and it has to be light and dark gold in color. Will the buttercream tint gold? Will it run? Do I mix it in the frosting or paint it on ? Thanks

Americolor makes a gold color for buttercream. It isn't metalic gold, but it's not yellow either. You can see it used in my photos on the FFA emblem.

Thanks. You have some beautiful cakes. I was looking more for the color you have on the 50th anniversary cake. I've tried mixing Wilton's suggestion of 10 parts yellow, 3 parts orange, 1 part red and came out with a neon orange. Looks like I'm going to have to use fondant and paint it with the gold dust. Thanks

Thank you.

For the 50th anniversary cake, I did use the gold luster dust. If I am remembering correctly I actually used it on white fondant.
