Had an order for a Dallas Cowbows Jersey Cake and a matching baseball cap yesterday. The client loved the ball cap so much that refused to cut it and has called to ask if there is a way to preserve it....not freeze for later but save for a shelf, is it possible to shellac it?

The ball cap was made of ricecrispy treats, covered in BC then fondant, with a gumpaste bill.

Any thoughts are greatly appriciated...

i made a cake for my niece and the topper was rkt rabbit covered with bc and then mmf. she kept it for two months afterwards and it turned rock hard then my sister made her throw it out. i've also made some sheep out of fondant and gumpaste and my friend liked them so much she kept one and sprayed it with a glaze used for ceramics. she still has it ...it's been a year!!
