Customer wants a Dk brown 2 tier cake, but says she does not want a sweet icing like BC or fondant. I was thinking SMBC or PP. I am worried the brown would not be dark enough. I look at pics and can't tell, some look light and some do look dark- I need a rich color of brown actually. How about chocolate flavoring?? Would that help and can I?
Thanks as always cc'rs for your help ~ Blesings

Yes, you can make it dark. I first use a powdered chocolate (nestle's quik type or hershey's) which of course will also flavor it chocolate then I add dark brown. Quite a bit. If still not dark enough add in some black.

Always remember to let it sit a few minutes for the true color to come out.

If you do not want the chocolatey taste, add orange or blue to the icing first then the brown.
