I've been asked to make this cake for my cousin's baby shower and I don't know how to achieve that tilted box lid look. I've seen the "tissue paper" made on cake boss, but I don't know what the lid should be made of and how to make it on that angle? PLEASE HELP! I LOVE THIS CAKE!

The way that I do my lid is to place 1 layer of cake on a thin foamcore board. I've used a cake board too but I think the foamcore works better.

Decorate your lid. Take 2 dowels and cut them about 1" taller than your "box cake" and place the dowels about 1/3 of the way back from the front of the box. These hold your lid "open". I place support dowels at the back of the "cake box" to support the rear of the lid.

Use some royal icing or chocolate on your dowels and place your lid on your box. Use a center dowel and tapp it through the center off your lid all the way through your box. I cover this hole with the bow.

Place your dried gumpaste tissue in place and your done!
