One of my best friends is getting married in November, and I want to do a coonskin cap for her groom's cake.............anyone have any suggestions/tips on how to make the icing/frosting look like hair/fur????
I don't think it would work with fondant, so I'm thinking buttercream would be my best option, but I really want it to look like a coonskin!

Thanks!
Susan

I've never made one, so I can't give any tips. Have you looked at the Sesame Street character/dog/teddy bear cakes? Maybe you could get fur techniques from them.

If you are using buttercream the wilton "hair/grass" tip is definitely the way to goicon_smile.gif however it would be possible with fondant as well if you use a clay extruder for the hair.
