Hello Everyone,

I am making a Toy Story themed cake and I would really like to try putting the wood planks/pieces on this cake, inspired by many cakes seen on CC. I would appreciate any help or direction in creating this look. Thanks in advance!

I've made them in the past by doing the following:

1) Using white fondant, roll it out and cut it in strips of the desired size
2) Using a pointed tool, indent some lines into the strips.
3) Mix some cocoa powder and vodka (you can also use lemon extract instead of vodka)
4) Brush the cocoa mixture onto the strips and let dry.

You can also buy, I think they are called the embossers and actually use it as a mold. (not sure if you wanted to make the look urself)
I wanted to make bricks and that's how I found them, they sell them on cake decorating suppliers and I also found is *NEW* @ Michaels, with Duff's collection. I could be wrong but i am about 80% right that, you actually get more than one mold in the set for under $10. I think one you get a brick and stones (like coblestones) and in the other wood plans and soemething else. Check Michaels online, I found some of the Duff collection on there, just an idea.
