I've seen lots of people on here refer to these two programs to use with their Cricuts in oreder to do more than just what the cartidges let you do.

How user friendly are the programs? In your opinion which one is better? I just got a Cricut so am thinking that maybe this is the way to go rather than buy a pile of cartridges.

I prefer MTC as I think it's more user friendly, JMO

This page was helpful to me when I was making my decision.

http://cleversomeday.wordpress.com/2009/12/22/cricut-software-comparison/

It compares a lot of features in not only SCAL and MTC but other software as well.
