Just wondering if anyone out there has experience making truffle trees. I am going to make one this weekend, and since math is definitly not my strongest asset i am curious as to how many truffles you used to make certain height trees. How many truffles did you use for a 12inch, 10 inch tree, etc. Thanks!

I have never made one but would love to be left in a room alone with one icon_biggrin.gif

I have absolutely no idea how you would work out the surface area of a cone, but I think that's what you'd have to do to then work out how many truffles you need (say the area is 40" you would need 40 1" truffles...or something).

I think someone like Doug would be able to help better on this, you could PM him in case he doesn't see the post icon_wink.gif

I really like the way they have filled in the gaps with the chocolate cigarillos too.

yes, exactly like that! so funny that you posted that pic because i have it saved in my computer for inspiration when i do make one! Im wanting to make one for Christmas, but I want it to be really nice so im trying to do at least 2 practice ones before that.

If theres anyone that even knows how i might go about calculating it, that would be helpful. The base of the cone is about 6 inches across and its about 12 inches tall.

You're welcome.
I think they are so pretty, there should be more of them in the world.
