I have used extracts in the past to paint fondant but read that you can use vodka. Is there any taste left after this? I am going to paint something silver using luster dust and didn't know whether to use flavoring or vodka.

I have no problem w/vodka & love using it. I buy the bigger bottles & my DH laughs at me as he says I look like a lush :0)

Just thought I'd throw this in here...don't know if you're already doing it...but in case you aren't.... if you're doing a silver lustre dust, make your fondant a light gray...makes it more 'silvery'. thumbs_up.gif

I use that all the time....mix to the consistency of maple syrup and paint away!
