hi all. Does anyone have a diagram of how to cut cake using the wilton wedding serving? The one below is the style I am looking for but for wilton wedding. Thanks!

http://cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1300478

Also, I came across a page that had outlines/sketches of round stacked cakes with the size and serving amount then my computer overheated and I haven't been able to find it again. Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?

p.s. I'm not speaking of indydeb's step by step guide on how to do it but rather diagram of the cuts...

Go to the Wilton site www.wilton.com they have the cutting guides for wedding cakes and party cakes. It is listed on the side.

I am pretty sure wilton uses the circle style cutting which isn't what I'm looking for. Thanks for your help though. I'll keep looking....

Is this what you're looking for? (http://www.wilton.com/cakes/making-cakes/) There's a section called "Tiered Cakes Serving Amounts." Notice that it's not counting the top tier.

This page also has servings per tier by size. (http://www.wilton.com/cakes/making-cakes/baking-wedding-cake-2-inch-pans.cfm)

They are from wilton, but the first link sounds exactly like what you describe. Also I'm confused about what you want. You say you're looking for the "wilton wedding serving" but not the circle way wilton suggests? How is what you're looking for different from the link you posted?

Sorry you have to cut and past the links. I tried to make them clickable, but couldn't get it right.[/url]

Click the link in my signature for how to cut a wedding cake. The circle method is pure crap. I've gotten feedback that cakers and venues across the country are printing out my how-to and leaving it with brides/caterers to show them how to cut the cake.

I use the Wilton Wedding Cake chart to determine number of servings http://www.wilton.com/wedding/wedding-cakes/wedding-cake-data.cfm and my cutting method will give you those numbers. I actually get about 10% more pieces (a 10" round, shown to serve 38 .... I can get 40-41 pcs).
