a cake today, that just got the creative juices flowing. But I want to run the idea by you guys for input and any ideas you may have.

Was asked to do 'possum road kill cake. I have never done a 3D carved cake. I told them this, but then I started thinking..

What if I did a sheet cake, covered in black fondant, yellow fondant stripes to look like center line, Then made the 'possum out of fondant/gumpaste. Head with bulging yes and tongue sticking out...then flattened out body with tire tread marks on it.. .then the rear end..and its tail??? I would make it so look life like, that you would expect it to smell !!

any ideas?

LOL! Sounds gross & fun! I'd use RKT to mold though. If it's gonna be as big as I am thinking. Can't wait to see the pic. Good luck!

i imagine what you describe to be funny. flat like a bear skin rug with molded hear a rear. very good way to get out of carving a cake
