making one for next week. also some ganache calls for rum or brady. I know this would give my ganach a richer depth of flavor, but its for a baby shower. Is that appropriate?

Even though it only takes a tablespoon of the liquor, I would not put it in a baby shower cake. It is also not necessary to refrigerate.

I agree to leave the liquor out, just because the guest of honor may be a bit leary of consuming something with alcohol in it, along with any nursing moms in attendance.

I think that is crazy since it's only a tablespoon icon_smile.gif , but I can totally understand why the mindset would be negative in that situation!

No need to refrigerate and I agree with the others, omit the liquor. thumbs_up.gif

Omit the liquor, but you could use a small amount of coffee in its place? I think coffee really brings out a rich flavor in chocolate.
