I have a request for a layer cake this week for the English dept at school I taught at last year, so I'd like to really impress...only thing is she is requesting a chocolate cake with vanilla layers. She doesn't care beyond that. What frosting/ganache should I use to really step it up? Thanks!

Strawberry cream cheese, strawberry bc or strawberry mousse filling and you'll have a neopolitan thing going on; if you do this I would stick with a vanilla bc icing.

Cool idea, but I'm not sure she would want me to change up that much, but I could do some choc-dipped strawberries on top...and go with more of a chocolate mousse filling.

Thanks!
