Nut Allergy???

if someone has a nut allergy can you still use an imitation almond extract? or should i not even take the chance and leave it out completely. thanks in advance

I just had a bride tell me that she was allergic to nuts and cant have Almond or Almond extract. I would leave it out icon_smile.gif

There is no almond in imitation almond extract. However, as someone with a tree nut allergy, I can tell you that you could swear on a stack of Bibles that it was imitation, but if I smelled almond I wouldn't eat it.
Use vanilla!

Some imitation almond extracts, although they do not contain actual almond, do contain an ingredient that is in the almond family. If so, that might cause an allergic reaction in someone with an almond allergy.
