Sorry for such a silly question..
But I have a cake due early in the morning and it calls for cream cheese icing.. So, I was wondering if I could go ahead and mix the icing up tonight and ice the cake in the morning.. Would it have the same texture and can it be softened up to actually ice the cake without breaking down.. Just guessing, I would think it would be fine.. But I don't wanna try it and it all fails at the last minute! Thanks so much for helping!

I have done it before using the recipe from design me a cake. I just let it come to room temperature before using.

I always make big batches of cream cheese frosting and freeze. Then I thaw it in the fridge, re-whip it and use it. Works like a charm
