I am fairly new to cake decorating, and most of my cakes I use BC only, I am now starting to use fondant over the BC, but I haven't figured out how much BC I need under the fondant, can anyone help?

Some just use a crumbcoat but I prefer a little more than that. I'd say that mine is about 1/4 of an inch thick.

I agree with mamawrobin. I like to have a nice layer of butter cream just in case someone doesn't like fondant they can remove it and still have a layer of frosting.
