I need some help. I have a client that really does not like sweet frosting and prefers the basic white whipped frosting from grocery stores. I have not been able to find anything that fits the bill. Is there anybody out there that can help??? icon_cry.gif

Have you let her sample a SMBC or IMBC? Both are lighter and "less sweet". Altho IMO anything with sugar is sweet. Muggle.

I, too, prefer whipped icing. I found a recipe online somewhere that claims to be "like the grocery store" whipped icing. I have not made this icing though. I hope this helps. Here is the recipe:

Things You'll Need:
2 tsp. unflavored gelatin
8 tsp. cold water
2 cups heavy whipping cream (at least 24 hours old and very cold)
1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. clear vanilla extract
Small saucepan
Medium mixing bowl
Electric mixer/beater

(mod edited for content. Please see link below for mixing instructions.)
