I was reading a thread about decorating cookies with fondant and I'd like to give it a try. My only problem (which is a huge problem in this case...) is that my sugar cookies never come out the way I want them to. Their either too thin, or they've baked out of shape, or they're just plain funky.

I'm 99.9% sure that it's operator error, but wanted to get ideas of what recipes you guys use when decorating cookies with fondant? Do you use sugar cookies? Or a different recipe?

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Hi,

There are several great recipes (in the recipe section here and elsewhere) that I've seen. Some of the most popular recipes that I hear people on CC talking about are Penny's, NFSC ("no-fail sugar cookie") and KHalstead's modified NFSC recipe.

here are links to those cookie recipes

this is a great article for new cookie decorators - and at the end Antonia74's royal icing recipe is AWESOME!

have fun!

I love the NSFC recipe... I reduce the amount of baking soda by about 1/2... and I add some additional flavoring, too. I LOVE this recipe!!
