I have been looking at some flower tutorials. (Thanks Yummy!) And, they are all made out of PETAL PASTE. What is this, how does it taste, how do I make it, or where can I buy it? Thanks!

Petal paste is a hybrid specialty gum paste for making flowers. It's pretty expensive and I'm not familiar with any recipes for making the same thing at home. The ones I've used are Platinum Paste and some by Marcela Sanchez. It seems quite expensive, but it goes a very long way.

It can be rolled very, very thin, but retains flexibility so that flowers can be assembled before they dry hard. That way, you can create more movement with the petals. It works well with the "soft" method of making flowers.
