I know there's a similar post, but I would like to know how you put the flowers on the cake. Do I need to wrap the stems with something or just wash them before inserting them into the cake? I wanted to make fondant flowers but all the cutters for tropical flowers are for larger flowers and I wanted the flowers to be smaller (I don't want them to overpower the cake) I even thought of artificial ones but the look artifical and I don't like that. I'm making the cake for this weekend - I saw the link to the edible flowers on the other post which is very helpful.

Any suggestions icon_smile.gif

Hi, I use flower picks/spikes in the cake then insert the flowers into that. The stems dont touch the cake then. I also add fresh flowers as close to the time of delivery as well, this keeps them fresher for longer. HTH
