I am doing 4 dozen custom designed cookies for a customer. The party is for Saturday, but now they may want to get them on Friday, so I told them the earliest time they will be available is noon on Friday. Sooo...what is a good idea to start making, baking, icing, packaging these cookies?

I'm trying to work backwards...thinking I could package them on Friday morning, so I'd have to ice (royal icing) on Thursday, so bake on Wednesday, and make the dough on Tuesday....does that sound about right? I don't do cookies much!

i would move your timeline up by a day so that they are packaged by Thursday night. It always takes longer than you think it will.
make dough today
bake tomorrow
decorate Wed
package Thurs.

Thanks! I also have two cakes that are due on Saturday morning, so I don't want to be rushing around with anything!

The sugar cookies are good for about a week, right?

I think that time line sounds fine - but be sure to allow yourself at least an hour on Friday morning to bag/package.
