Hello,

I am not sure what to do about a craigslist ad in my area, It has a couple of different cakes on it and one of them I know does not belong to the poster, it even has a mark accross the picture. Should I post the link and see if any one wants to claim their cakes?

Well my DH said that I should give the link and let any owners of the pics handle it. So here it is.

Like I said one of the pics is by Cakesbysam.com its even on the pic so I am not sure if the rest are hers or just taken off the internet.

Wow that was rough to read....I know I don't have the best grammar, but wow.

I think you could run your self crazy trying to locate all cakes people pawn off as their own, especially on craigslist.

Is it illegal and/or immoral, yes. Is it going to ruin someone's business, I doubt it. Most people don't go to craigslist to find a cake and if they do they are probably not the type of customer (most likely someone cheap) that you are targeting or wanting to cater to.

That's funny how she says she won't do the same cake twice... because she doesn't want to have to try to do one of those cakes which are... well... one of them is good, the rest are kinda sloppy anyways so if she wants to take the credit. LOL

When I see spelling and grammar that bad on a website, CL ad, or whatever, I'm puzzled as to who exactly takes that "business" serious enough to place an order. Everyone makes a typo sometimes, sure, but under no circumstances would I feel comfortable handing over a couple hundred bucks for someone to do a custom job when they obviously don't have enough attention to detail to run a freaking spellcheck at the very least.
I mean, call me crazy, but when I see an ad like that, I can only imagine the result will be something like

or

Smallfrye, if you're feeling kind, you can contact the owner of the watermarked photo and inform them it's being used in such a way.

I sent cakesbysam an email to let them know that there pic was being used. What is sad is that yelm only has one other decorator in town. So people may fall for this. I dont sell cakes because of all the dumb laws. ( They are only dumb because there are so many of them LOL) I dont think it will last long if she can not produce what people think she can. Maybe if the owners see their cakes they can put a stop to it.
