I would like to make some stars and attach them to wire and insert them in my daughter's graduation cake. Which type of wire I should use? Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

From what I've seen on previous posts, I don't think any wire is really food safe. You should do your best to keep it from coming into direct contact with your cake.

If you are doing a spray of shooting stars, you can insert a straw into your cake, then insert the wires into the straw.
