Any suggestions to make fondant look like denim? Thought about trying cornflower blue mixed with grey?

I made a jeans cake once and started with cornflower, then added a bit of royal blue until I liked the color. Came out ok I think. It's the cowboy hat in my photos.

Thank you. Your denim looked great and the hat too. I am making a small hat for this cake--lucked up and found one the right size to model with.
