Hi,
I'm doing a 3-d house cake that has a spanish tile roof.

Any suggestions for doing this? I think I'm going to use foam core board to maintain the shape. What about the "waves".

I'm thinking strips of fondant and just working them into a similar shape. I'm just going for the look of it all. She did not want to pay for the extra work of doing it piece by piece.

Sugestions please?

You could always roll up fondant into snakes or possible do some lines of RI down the roof and then lay the strips of fondant over them, thereby giving you your waves

My first thought is to essentially pipe BC ruffles. In layered rows.

But yeah, Matt's idea is a good one too.

Thanks Mayo2222... that confirms my idea. I had thought it would be easier with something for support under there.

We'll see how this goes.
