Any suggestions/advice on covering heart shaped cakes with fondant? I cant seem to get it right! I keep getting excess along the sides icon_sad.gif and can't get the folds-not very smooth.
Also, I would love to try and add a "drape" between layers as I have seen in many of your pictures-how is this done?
Thanks for helping another newbie!

Hearts can be tricky.

Start by doing the crease at the top first, then the point at the bottom, then the 2 "shoulders" working from the central crease around each shoulder toward each side, and then smooth the sides.

You need to cut a nice big piece of fondant so that you have plenty to flare around the entire heart like a big skirt. Tent it away from the cake before you start and gently pull away and smooth in order to get it smooth on the cake.

Thank you-sounds like maybe I'm not spreading it out far enough to start with. Really appreciate your help!
