I need help making a baseball field cake. The young man was very specific in what he wanted and the main thing was "the field". I've looked at several cakes on here and am not sure how to go about putting it together. I was thinking a square cake for the field but how do I get the "rounded" look of the outfield? I need this cake for Sunday and have a lot of ideas of what I want to add to the cake but I need the cake to start. Thanks for your help!

What about using a slightly larger square pan, bake & fill as needed, then freeze it to firm it up. Then simply carve off a rounded outfield area, cover in green fondant, add the infield in tan fondant, bases and baselines with either white fondant strips or piped buttercream, and maybe use the grass tip to "perk up" the grassy areas with green buttercream?
