So I am new to this whole cake decorating thing and completely addicted to this website. As I look at the pictures, I am noticing ribbons around a lot of the wedding cakes and it looks so nice. Are the ribbons just standard ribbon you buy or are people somehow making them edible? Are there tips to applying them to cakes? Thanks everyone! icon_biggrin.gif

Some use fondant ribbon and some use real ribbon. Since "real" ribbon isn't food safe you should a barrier between your ribbon and your cake. I use wax paper. I just cut the wax paper the same size as my ribbon and put it on the cake first.
