I plan to try to make pulled sugar ribbons tonight and the recipe calls for food coloring. Can I use my Americolor gels or do I need to use "regular" food coloring?

Thanks,
Kathi

Sure.

The easiest way to do it is to make the sugar clear, let it cool a bit, and then add some color (a few dots at a time) before pulling it. That way, you don't get a huge batch of one color and you can add stripes of other colors, if you want.
