Not getting much info from the client except girls get together (preppy, smart girl, sporty, etc) & one dies w/ a blue/red striped tie being the murder weapon. they like the idea of a crime scene, but she knows I'll make it "cute & girly".

I'm not into 90210 & wasn't the first time around, but thought it's a little more "preppy". Girls are early teen & are planning an entire party around the theme.

Can you guys please throw some ideas my way. It doesn't have to be a "crime scene" but the client liked that idea. And if you guys could give both buttercreme accent & fondant accent ideas that would be great---she's not decided what she wants yet

90210 was all about high school drama. If they all attend the same school, you could bring in their school name and emblem along with their zip code. Do these young ladies hang out at a particular place? 90210 cast always hung out at The Peach Pit. You could always have a Peach on the cake to represent the diner - or bring in a familiar place to the ladies.
90210 was all about the west coast, beach parties, surfing etc.

I hope this helps. I was a 90210 watcher and still watch the reruns if on tv. PM me if you have any questions.

Thanks, T

Apparently in the new 90210 someone was killed at the end of the season & after a little searching I found out there's a trivia game. http://www.mysterygamecentral.com/games/Murder90210.html . Sounds a lot like CLUE.

Still not sure how to make it "girly" though.

It will be either a 6" or an 8" so nothing big. "Just enough for the girls". Plus she's wanting to spend as little as possible

How about a magnifying glass, footprints, 90210, fingerprints - things of that nature, in pink. This one is a little mind boggling.

Better than anything I've come up with. I've thought maybe fondant pearls, purse, lipstick & a "boa" glued around the edge of the board. Maybe those things along w/ your suggestions will be something she likes. I'm going to get in contact w/ her & see what she thinks. Thanks for getting some juices flowing.

The boa would be a nice addition. I used one of those with a Mardi Gras cake. The lipstick is a great idea also. Have you made this cake yet?

She got back to me & is going forward w/ it. She sent me the "characters" & the only 2 I'm having difficulty w/ a representaion is the 1) class presidet & 2) Top Student. Examples of Others I've come up w/ are School Paper Editor---a newspaper; cheerleader--pom pom; Drama Student--drama mask

Any tips for the President & Top Student?

What about a report card with A's on it for the top student? You could make the cake Oval for the president. Or an eagle? I don't know about presidential icons.

Maybe a gavel for the president?

My dh suggested the report card too. I ended up doing a grad cap for the president

Now I have another dilemma. The sides are WAY too bare. Any suggestions? I may drape fondant "tape" but am afraid of messing up the border

How about 90210 in the font the TV show uses? I envision it large, like top to bottom large.

Ugh, didn't get your response before I started. I just painted footprints all around the sides. At least it wasn't blank
