I just mixed up a batch of Fondant with two cups of sugar less than what it called for and yet it's super dry. I've never had this happen before! Normally it's the other way around!

What do I do to rectify this? I'm guessing that I should just add crisco, but I'm not sure.

The original recipe I used was 16 oz marshmellos, 7 cups of icing sugar, 2 tbsp of water, and 2 tsp flavoring

Thanks!

Try coating it with a healthy amount of crisco and letting it rest for a few hours sealed in a ziplock bag. Then I would microwave it a few seconds at a time and knead.

i use 1 regular bag of minature marshmallows, 1 1lb bag of con sugar, and two teaspoons water, i've never had a problem with this recipe, you do need your hands criscoed real well, and when you can't get any more to mix and inbetween use crisco during mixing.wow 7 cups is a lot for 1 regular bag of mm's i couldn't immagine it mixing, without a ton of crisco
