I just made these cupcakes yesterday and I love them but I don't think I executed them too well. I need tips on covering cupcakes with poured fondant. I used crusting BC for the little scrolls and then painted them gold. They would have worked better had I used RI and then painted, right? Anyway, I would love some constructive criticism!

Thanks for the comment. I used her tutorial and thought I did it as she instructed but they didn't come out the same. I want to by the fondant she uses. I made my own and I wonder if that was part of the problem.

She has a tutorial and recipe for the type of fondant that is used in candy centers. I made it once. I ended up with a ball of sticky sugar, then when I wanted to cover something I pulled some off and thinned it down. Worked ok.
*looked at your cuppies again. Look fine to me. When you dip the cuppie hold upside down a bit longer and practice your piping. I think you are on the right track.
**Take a small amt if RI and mix with gold dust. Then use a 3 or 4 tip for your scroll. Easy peasy. Tell Gma Rose that her china is lovely.

They're really lovely -- and it was a nice touch to put them into china cups!
