I am hoping to do a cat in the hat cake (the hat) soon. Does anyone know if I can paint the red parts with food color and a brush instead of doing red fondant? Any advice on this would be very much appreciated. THANKS!! icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

Sure can. Some use the gel straight and some mix it with lemon extract, vodka or everclear. I also like using airbrush colors. They are already thinned down and dry well.

Thanks!! Where do I get airbrush color? Do you think it is worth it to buy the airbrush color? I only have wilton's red.... and we all know the quality of that. icon_rolleyes.gif Guess I'll do a test run. THANKS!!
