Hi, has anyone tried baking a cake in a pirex bowl, instead of baking a cake in a pan and then shaping it. HELP! Thank you.

I have and it came out fine. I did lower the temp and cooked a little longer to make sure the middle was done. I have also baked in a stainless bowl when I don't need the top to be completely round. The m&m's in my pics were made in a stainless steel bowl....no carving needed icon_biggrin.gif

I baked in a small bowl recently and it worked for me. I did my usual 325 degrees and did use a flower nail but ended up with a funny bump I had to trim off. Be careful about putting a cold bowl in a hot oven or a hot bowl on a cold surface so it doesn't break for the temp shock.
