I am using the Wilton Bible pan to make a bible cake and I want to add a filling - has anyone here ever made the cake using the instructions of 2 mixes and then torting and filling or do you think you can make making the first one with one mix then making another with another mix and then putting one on top of the other - am I making sense?? Please help!

I haven't used this pan, but I would follow the instructions and do both mixes at the same time and then torte and fill. I took a look at the pan online ~ if you try doing it one mix at a time, I think you're going to end up with two "tops" of the open book cake w/ no flat bottom on which the cake can rest.
