Has anyone tried to use the WASC recipes that call for flavored pudding mixes, and made them without the instant pudding mix?
I am planning on making a tropical cake for my friend (a 2 tier cake) and he doesn't eat pudding mix.Does anyone have any suggestions on how to replace /substitute the pudding mix in this recipe?
.(Tropic Breeze - MacsMom
2 pkgs white cake mix
2 c flour
2 c sugar
1-1/2 t salt
1 small pkg banana pudding
8 egg whites
4 Yoplait banana cream yogurts
1/4 c oil
2 c coconut creamer (Coffee Mate)
2/3 c Malibu rum or pineapple juice
1 t coconut extract
1 t banana extract
1 t LoRann Pina Colada flavoring or pineapple extract)
Thanks a lot.

I'd just leave it out. All I can see it doing is adding more banana flavor in there.

Okay I went and compared just so I could know for sure...

The only difference is the added pudding, they are using other liquids in place of the water, and they adjusted the flavorings. Everything else is the as the White Almond Sour Cream Recipe.

Yep, that is what I would do. You could add a little more banana flavoring if you wanted to up the banana flavoring. Malibu also makes a banana flavored rum, so if you used the coconut coffee creamer you could use some of the bananan rum in there.
