Filling For Fondant Covered Cake. Help Please!

Can someone please share a good recipe for a filling for a cake that will be covered in fondant. I plan on making the cake the night before the afternoon party. So, I suppose the filling should be something that dosent need refrigeration. Can you also please share a good buttercream recipe please?
