Ok guys...I have got a request for 3D Astronatut cake to feed 40-45 people.
She sent me this link:

She want the astronaut to be from waist up and wants an american flag in the background! This is for her daughter's 5th B'day!
I'm totally blank on this....could the great talent over here help me please as to how should I go about doing this cake????
Thanks so much in advance!
I would start with a pvc pipe armature. I would leave the arms off until I got the body part stacked on the center pole, then attatch the arm supports and mold around them with rice krispy treats. Then do the head on top.
You could use confectioners glaze to make the helmet facemask shiny.
My DH makes all of my cake stands, so I can't really offer any advice on how to do that part. And I'm sure someone out there will have a better idea than mine, but that is how I would proceed, just off the top of my head.
Good luck to you.
Here are some links to astronaut cakes. Maybe you will get some ideas from them.
