I am new to cake decorating. Started 3 months ago with the first three Wilton classes, never made more than a duncan hines cake before that. I have a request for a tiered cake (first time doing that also - this ought to be an adventure). I wanted to put "sota technique" on it, but I can't find anyplace where they give directions. Hope someone can help. Thanks in advance. Tammie

You should have done sotas in your Course 3. There are directions in your book, first lesson, and you should have a practice page as well! It's a lovely technique, it will be beautiful on your wedding cake!

The way the courses worked out, I took Course 1, 2, and 4. So I didn't get the book for 3 yet.

Thank you for the links. I was thinking it was more involved also. I did this on a cake a few weeks ago and put it in my photo's. Thought I had invented it! Tammie
