I have a princess cake due next week and I have seen several cakes with a top drape on top of the cake. It has a scalloped edge on it. My question is how do I do that?? Please help icon_biggrin.gif

cut a piece of fondant out into that shape (if you have a petal pan that is bigger than the cake you're working with you can trace that as a guid)..........or you can print out a petal/scalloped shape off your pc and print to about 3"-4" bigger than the cake you're working with, cut it out of fondant and then put it on the top of the cake.

I love making drapes/swags using my chocolate fondant put thru a pasta machine till REALLy thin. Makes for very realistic looking drapes. You could use frill cutters to make scallops on it.
