I'm planning on making the giant cupcake, but would like to include a filling in the base, so it's just not plain cake. I'd also like to cover the base with MMF, but I want to make sure the filling doesn't start to ooze out between the sandwhiched layers, and then start to melt the MMF or have it buldge out. What do you guys suggest is the best method to do this? I've never filled a cake before, and I've never covered a cake in MMF either. Is there a certain kind of filling recipe I should be using? Something more stable?

You could treat it like a tiered cake... Torte the bottom cake, fill, and cover with MMF. Then put the top on and decorate.

I've never made a tierd cake either. Do I have to get a dowel to stick in the giant cupcake as well? I'm also worried how I'm going to transport it!
