Thanks Sharon! I'll put Sweetex on my shopping list and test it against my store brand and see which one I like better.
BTW, your sheet cake DVD is on my list for Mother's Day!
Another quick question for 'Teacher Sharon' can we add color to our wonderful buttercream? will it change the consistency??
Ok thanks a million!!
sure u can add color, if you add a lot, it will make it softer.
Thanks a MILLION Sharon!!!
Hi Sharon, I like to know how Ican get the picture that you used on sheet cake secrets dvd. Its so cute. Love your DVDs. I'm learning alot from you. Any classes in Michigan.
Thanks a MILLION!!!!!!
Sandy
Sharon,
When do you add the color? I find that I have a difficult time achieving a consistent color if I add it @ the end. The bowl is so full that it's difficult to get the color all the way to the bottom. If I add it when I'm adding the other liquid, I have a hard time judging how much color to add.
Thanks!!

if doing a whole batch i do it at the beginning, watch the color, and add more later in the process if i need to.
if a small portion, I do it in a bowl with a spoon.
HTH!
is sweetex a brand you can get at the grocery store??
I purchase Sweetx at GFS. Granted it is in a 50 LBS block, which may be a bit much for some.
For smaller amounts check out Global Sugar Art or just Google Sweetx. I know I have seen it in 1 LBS packaging.
Some places won't ship it in the summer because of the heat - just keep that in mind. If you really like it than order a large amount early spring.
