I have never posted on this forum before but have been reading it for several days now. I just want to say thank you to everyone who posts their advice, opinions and questions. This really is an amazing resource for newbies like myself.
I have been so inspired by seeing all the pictures of cookies that I had to try it myself. Using the information I found on this forum I baked and decorated my first "fancy" batch of cookies.
Of course they did not turn out the way I would have liked or imagined but for my first try I think they are ok. I will be sure to pick up some more # 2 and 3 decorating tips so I have enough for each colour. I only had one tip for these cookies and then just used the parchment cone, which was too large and became mushy at the end. I wasn't able to achieve the clean lines I really wanted.
Anyhoo, just wanted to say thanks again!
ladee_bugg, I am also new to this. I think you did a great job on those cookies and I can see how creative you were with all those different designs! Keep up the good work. I just did my first cookie decorating a couple of weeks ago and mine were not where I would have liked them to be but I'm sure the more I practice, the better it will get. I don't even know how to upload pictures! You're doing better than me!
You done an awesome job on your cookies! Hope to see more pics of cookies and cakes in the future and Happy St. Patricks Day!
Thank you all so much!
I forgot to say earlier that I used GeminiRJ's icing and a modified sugar cookie recipe that I saw on Cookie Crazie's blog.
I bought some Easter cookie cutters, can't wait to make some more!
Sounds like someone is catching cookie fever! Good luck to you!
Yes, this is how it starts! It all seems pretty innocent in the beginning...until you begin asking strangers if you can take a photo of their t-shirt because you like the design and want to make it into a cookie!
ladee_bugg, you did fabulous! The cookies look GREAT!
