So yesterday we had the Chief Justice of the United States, John Roberts, visit our law school... I decided to make a cake for my classmates for the event which detailed the inside of the Supreme Court with all nine justices. I mostly thought it would be good practice, since I've only made 5 or 6 cakes up to this point... so it wasn't a work of art by any means, but lawyers are easily impressed by artistic endeavors, haha. Anyway, one of my professors saw the cake and asked if the Chief Justice had seen it, to which I replied no... at which point he made me carry the (extremely heavy) cake over to Justice Roberts. He asked which justice was him (and I told him, "The youngest of course!") Anyway, I got to have a conversation with him, thanks to my cake!
How wonderful for you - did you get a picture of it to post?
Nothing like starting at the top of the food chain for orders
Big things come from small beginnings - thanks for shariong
Bluehue.
Thanks aggiechef! That's definitely the one I'm most proud of, I think!
I'm hesitant to post a picture of this one, mostly because I had a lot of frustrations (i.e. my fondant roller melted in the dishwasher so it was nearly impossible to roll the fondant decently!) My roommate wanted to help, so she made most of the justices' faces. The idea was grand in my head, but in execution it wasn't so spectacular... sloppy gold line across the curtain (I was trying a new product and it was so drippy!!)... smeared white icing above the curtains) etc. etc. so have pity on me as I'm learning!!
Great job and congrats. I love that "They loved my cake" high. Nothing like it, right?
