I have to make a wedding cake (fruit) with no almond icing. Is there anything I need to do under the white fondant or just brush the cake with apricot syrup/sugar syrup? Thanks a mil.

Whenever I've made fruitcake in the past and they don't want Marzipan I just plug any big holes with RTR, moisten the cake with Rum/Brandy in a spray bottle then cover it with the RTR - making it just a little thicker than normal to hide any tiny fruit holes better.

HTH!

Cheers!

Hey, margz, how did you go?
Did it work out in the end?
Please post a pic, I would like to see it!

Thanks!
