My first time making gumpaste flowers on wire. I've wrapped them in florist tape. Can I just stick them into the cake? Should the florist tape that goes into the cake be covered by something?

I'm confused...

Yes, cover your wires with something. Do not stick them directly into your cake. I don't use gum paste flowers very often. But I have used foil to cover them and also used Wilton flower picks. Here is a pic of the pick (LOL!) I'm sure you'll get lots of other replies from more experienced decorators.

yea don't stick directly onto the cake, its not good....i use the little coffee stirrer(?) straws, stick the wire in them and then onto the cake and I don't use floral tape....hth icon_smile.gif
