Ok, so maybe I'm being totally shameless here. I've been debating posting this for days, but I'm still so proud of the video my husband did. He actually did this last June, from some of the cakes he had done during the year since he finished the Wilton Courses. I love his cakes, but I also just think his timing of certain cakes to the words in the music, and the action of the photos to certain words is really incredible. So can I be shameless and share this video with you? (Be sure to turn up your speakers)
Thank you, both. (He doesn't even know I've done this) And I do think that even since then he just keeps improving with his skills.
Hey! That is great! I especially like the sandcastle cake, bugs bunny and all the carrots, and the spilled champagne glass cake. He did such a great job-- love the song and how he put it together. It actually made me a little sad, isn't that crazy?! Thanks for sharing.
What a nice way to display his work! You can really see the progress that way! Thanks for sharing.

I think I know what you mean. It's in the music. I remember when he put this together. He had just been going through some of his music, and came across this piece. He sat down and started putting this video together, wouldn't let me look at it. I didn't think he'd get far with it, but he was still at it and I finally gave up and went to bed. When I got up in the morning he was still at it.... lol He wanted to get the timing..... just.... perfect. He spent several more hours on it and toward the end of the work had me sit down with him to go over it, and over it and over it. I must have watched it, part by part, a hundred times that day, then he put it on YouTube. I still enjoy seeing it. I appreciate the comments and that you are looking at it. I know he has alot of pride in both his cakes and how the video came out. I guess it was just times for my buttons to bust and get this on here for him.
It was wonderful -- I watched it twice!! I'm a traditional kind of gal, so my favorite cake is the beautiful two-tiered white with pillars and pink roses. I also love the egg with the chicken feet sticking out, and that pumpkin pie is beyond realistic.
The man has talent -- you're right to be proud!
Thanks for sharing, I had to save to favs on my laptop to watch over again and again. He has so much talent with cakes and the video. You can tell he put lots of hard work and long hours on the video. I do them for my Grandkids birthday parties and know the time it takes. Thanks again for sharing.
Great video and great cakes! That sandcastle is FABULOUS!
Thank you. The sand castle was done and displayed at the State Park near here. They were having a sand castle building contest at the beach and the cake was on display for the day. After the winners were announced the cake was cut for everyone there. It fed over 200 people that were there.

Thank you, now I know I did the right thing posting it for him. I love to watch it over and over, but then again I know I'm prejudiced. But knowing someone else watched it more than one is so great.
And I'm loving just seeing that different people pick different cakes as their favorites. That's really cool. (btw, the white wedding cake with the pink roses was his final for the Wilton Course 3. He'd only been doing cakes for 3 months at that point)
Oh that was very nice!!! Lots of great cakes too. The one that made me laugh was the egg cake. Too funny!

Thank you. It never ceases to amaze me how sometimes the best designs are the simplest. He borrowed that design from someone on CC.
That wa so nice. I had a smirk on my face from the moment the man started singing. You husband is very talented; I see why your proud.
Thank you, I really am. I know he's loving knowing so many people are watching the video and appreciating it. He gets shy easy that way, but I know he's loving it. Even though I know what words will come up with different photos, I still get a kick out of the anticipation of it.
Great Video, not only are the cakes nice so is the voice. I could see why you are proud. Thanks for sharing.
that was so much fun
I'm so glad you posted. I see some familiar cakes from my wilton classes and wow he did way better than I did.

Thank you. It was funny, a friend of mine and I were supposed to take the classes, but something always got in the way. So one day when we were in AC Moore he saw the classes were going to start and half price, so he offered to take them with me to keep me company. We go in and it's 14 women and him. About 5 minutes into the class I look over at him and he's got this look of, "Oh God, what did I do?", lol, but by the end of the class I could see all his wheels turning and the excitment coming out. I think he was the most enthusiastic of the whole class. And he kept asking our instructor if there were any more classes she could teach, air brushing, sculpting, ANYTHING. He just wanted to keep on going. It was so much fun being able to take the classes with him. He did the Bugs Bunny cake the weekend before we began our fondant course. He just couldn't wait to try to use it anymore.... lol
Ok, WOW, this was a REAL eye opener. I just went into the YouTube video site and it tells you where your views are from. I'm sharing this just to give everyone an idea of where people are viewing from in here. Here is the list of viewer locations, so far:
Canada (they don't break it out)
Australia (again, they don't break this out)
United Arab Emirates
Poland
Netherlands
United Kingdom
India
New Hampshire, Masschusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California
I am just absolutely blown away by all the places this site is reaching and that people are responding from.
I love this video!!! Your cakes are awesome!! I loved the chicken coming out of the egg!! The Sponge Bob was great too!!
I know exactly what he felt like going into those classes being the only Guy. I went throughout the same thing. My wife's friend was supposed to take classes with me and quit the very first class! I was alone and wondering "What have I done!"
I've taken all of the classes too and enjoyed all of them!! I really want to become a wilton instructor. That shocked the teacher as well when I told them that. I can't let 15 years as an instructor in the military go to waste, right?
Tell him to get a profile on here!!!
You definitely have to go for it. My husband had inquired and I think still has info from them on it. If you want me to look for it I will and send it pm to you, I'd be happy to. He had two reasons he didn't do it at the time, one was that he got a really good job offer that was going toconflict with him time wise, and more importantly, it would have been in an adjacent store to where we took the classes and he figured he couldn't compete with the instructor we had, she's been doing cakes professsionally for 30 years, even though she did tell him to go for it. With a love for cake decorating and a background in teaching, you definitely have to go for it.
I don't know about you, but I do know my husband felt so much better about his love for cake decorating when he really began watching the cake challenges and seeing the men who were doing it and that they are so passionate about it. Has your wife's friend regretted not going through the courses with you?
Ok, I'm going to push my luck here. But there has been viewers to this video from all but 5 states. I want to be able to show my husband that someone from every state has seen it. Missing is Alaska, West Virginia, Vermont, Maine and Delaware. I'm thrilled that the following countries from Europe have joined in seeing the video. In addition to Poland, Netherlands and United Kingdom, we've now had viewings from, Greece, Portugal and Germany. I don't think I mentioned a viewer from the Philippines before. I really do appreciate everyone who has viewed this. I also feel like a little kid with a new toy here. This just blows me away that a simple little video like this can be seen in so many places around the world.
