I am making mini cakes for my husbands work. Do I need a crusting cream cheese frosting or can I use just a regular cream cheese frosting before I put on the fondant? Do I let the icing sit on the cake for awhile before I put the fondant on it? Any help I would appreciate.

Thank you

Mish

A crusting frosting will make the fondant look much better. You just need to "remoisten" it before applying the fondant, either with water, corn syrup, or piping gel.

If you are worried about the frosting squishing under the fondant, just chill before covering with fondant.
